On first open:

  • Sign up for the 7 day free trial. All sorted via your Google Play account.
  • If you want to continue to the full subscription just keep playing.
  • Go fill out your business details to create your music license.
  • Check the config to see if you can optimise the app for the device’s battery usage.
  • Swipe left-right across the top of the animation to change the mood between upbeat music styles and relaxed music styles. More options for music styles and moods will launch in the near future.
  • Music updated monthly via Google Play updates. Only the music will be changed in these updates unless there is a new version of the app for new features and bug fixes.

Once past the Melody Pods’ welcome screens you will see the trial offer to try out our service for 7 days free of charge. Press the “Free Trial” button to process through the Google Play subscription process. No payment is taken as it is a free period. If you don’t want to continue with the service please make sure you cancel before the end of the 7 day period.

Click the menu button top right on the main player screen and choose “Create Licence” to enter your business details. These details are held locally so we do not use them. Once saved, the “Your Licence” button will appear in the menu which will be your reference for any rights agencies who enquire about your legal right to use Melody Pods’ music in your business.

Press the moon button to trigger the screen saver. The screen saver is there to protect your device’s screen from wearing out because of 24/7 use while Melody Pods is running. It is defaulted to trigger after 5 minutes. The player screen can be viewed again by pressing anywhere on the screen when the screen saver is running.

Service Availability: a quick check screen to ensure the app is seeing network availability that is only required once in a while to download new music and also check you have an active subscription. The status of your subscription is shown below and will show if you are still in your trial period or not.

Not Critical: Configuration Prompts: these two buttons take you to locations in your device’s settings that can enable your device to understand Melody Pods is to be treated with high priority with power availability, thus your Android device will not close the app down and prioritise other apps over it in certain situations.

No network or subscription expired. If the device can not check for an active subscription (after a number of attempts) it will assume there is no subscription the player will only play from a small collection of music until the network is available again. Alternatively, you may have an expired subscription.
